Wanted to test out the pants and socks before it got too warm to see how they performed in colder water… Bow River, Alberta in late April. Both worked great and I wasn’t cold at all. The best part compared to normal waders and wading boots was how I felt after a day of fishing. I’m 65 years old and after a long day hiking along the river I find myself absolutely exhausted. I put on just over 11kms and although I was definitely tired, I wasn’t anywhere near how I feel wearing my regular waders/boots. I wore a pair of “regular” lightweight hiking boots and found the combination perfect! Went out this week and picked up a pair of Backcountry Skinz waterproof Merino wool socks as I sometimes don’t want wet feet. Great seeing a local company innovating and being successful… looking forward to more products that actually help me fish from Backcountry Skinz!
Great company and quicker than expected shipping, even over such a long distance. They may be based west of the Canadian Rockies, but their product easily translates to the terrain and conditions of the Great Smoky Mountains and Appalachia. If you like to be mobile, traverse lots of different kinds of terrain, hike long miles, wade in and out of all kinds of water, keep your temperature regulated based on the season, and stay comfortable throughout it all, Backcountry Skinz is for you.
I took my new SKINK for the first wade fishing session of my season in Rhode Island USA. Over the last few years my cold tolerance has diminished and my time in the water has been getting shorter. I can't believe how warm the pants and socks get me today. Thank you JR
They responded quickly to my email question to them about the dysfunction of the product
Great product. Already preferred wet-wading over traditional bulky waders and these make it a no brainer! Work great on small AZ creeks and medium sized rivers. I never felt too cold or too hot, even when hiking into remote areas. Highly Recommend!
Shipping was faster than expected. The sizing on socks 100% needs to be shifted. Lg should be for 12+, Md should be 10+, Sm should be 8+. I wear a 10 and ordered larges and they’re absolutely massive on my foot.
Tried them on with my boots and they will do perfect for wet wading. Looking forward to putting them to the test once the weather and water warm up a bit.
Sehr hochwertige Produkte.
Maßangaben sind genau und passend.
Für mich inzwischen eine tolle Alternative zur Wathose.
